Piles : Know more about it !

Piles are also known as haemorrhoids, they are basically swollen blood vessels in and around anus and rectum. It is quiet complicated condition as it creates problems in day to day working of the patient. Modern medicine offers invasive procedures for the condition which at times does not go well for the patient. Homeopathy offers excellent treatment and management of the condition. Let us first understand what piles is?
The haemorrhoidal veins are located in the lowest part of the rectum and the anus. Sometimes they swell so that the vein walls become stretched, thin, and irritated by passing bowel movements. Haemorrhoids are classified into two general categories: internal and external.
Internal hemorrhoids lie far enough inside the rectum that you can't see or feel them. They don't usually hurt because there are few pain-sensing nerves in the rectum. Bleeding may be the only sign that they are there. Sometimes internal hemorrhoids prolapse, or enlarge and protrude outside the anal sphincter. If so, you may be able to see or feel them as moist, pink pads of skin that are pinker than the surrounding area. Prolapsed hemorrhoid’s may hurt because they become irritated by rubbing from clothing and sitting. They usually recede into the rectum on their own; if they don't, they can be gently pushed back into place.
External hemorrhoids lie within the anus and are often uncomfortable. If an external hemorrhoid prolapses to the outside (usually in the course of passing a stool), you can see and feel it. Blood clots sometimes form within prolapsed external hemorrhoids, causing an extremely painful condition called a thrombosis. If an external hemorrhoid becomes thrombosed, it can look rather frightening, turning purple or blue, and could possibly bleed. Despite their appearance, thrombosed haemorrhoids are usually not serious and will resolve themselves in about a week. If the pain is unbearable, the thrombosis hemorrhoid can be removed with surgery, which stops the pain.
Anal bleeding and pain of any sort is alarming and should be evaluated; it can indicate a life-threatening condition, such as colorectal cancer. Hemorrhoids are the main cause of anal bleeding and are rarely dangerous, but a definite diagnosis from your doctor is essential.
What causes hemorrhoids?
Anyone at any age can be affected by hemorrhoids. They are very common, with about 50% of people experiencing them at some time in their life. However, they are usually more common in elderly people and during pregnancy. Researchers are not certain what causes hemorrhoids. "Weak" veins - leading to hemorrhoids and other varicose veins - may be inherited.
It's likely that extreme abdominal pressure causes the veins to swell and become susceptible to irritation. The pressure can be caused by obesity, pregnancy, standing or sitting for long periods, straining on the toilet, coughing, sneezing, vomiting, and holding your breath while straining to do physical labor.
Diet has a pivotal role in causing - and preventing - hemorrhoids. People who consistently eat a high- fiber diet are less likely to get hemorrhoids, but those who prefer a diet high in processed foods are at greater risk of hemorrhoids. A low-fiber diet or inadequate fluid intake can cause constipation, which can contribute to hemorrhoids in two ways: it promotes straining on the toilet and it also aggravates the hemorrhoids by producing hard stools that further irritate the swollen veins.
Homeopathy offers the best treatment option for piles/hemorrhoids. Understanding Psoriasis

Psoriasis (from Greek ψωρίασις, meaning "itching condition" or "beingitchy. Is a skin condition where the skin becomes scabby with itching. It is a very common, chronic and relapsing condition. In other words just like most chronic skin diseases psoriasis also is not easy to get rid off.
The intent of writing this blog entry is to make the public aware of the underlying conditions of psoriasis and how it should be managed properly.

Seen above is a severe case of psoriasis. Its an immune mediated disease characterized by skin lesions including red, scaly patches, papules, and plaques, which usually itch. The skin lesions seen in psoriasis may vary in severity from minor localized patches to complete body coverage. It means psoriasis can start from from a small region any where in the body and can escalate and reach the entire body.
The disease is a serious one because it can lead to many other complications and detoriate the condition of patient and general health. Hence it should be taken seriously and due medical help should be taken at the right time.

If you notice plaque with itch anywhere on your body like the one shown above in the picture then it’s a sign of psoriasis. Shown below are pictures of different types of psoriasis which can help the common man in identifying the disease.

The five main types of psoriasis are plaque, guttate, inverse, pustular, and erythrodermic Plaque psoriasis, the most common form, typically manifests as red and white scaly patches on the top layer of the skin. Skin cells rapidly accumulate at these plaque sites and create a silvery-white appearance. Plaques frequently occur on the skin of the elbows and knees, but can affect any area, including the scalp, palms of hands, and soles of feet, and genitals. In contrast to eczema, psoriasis is more likely to be found on the outer side of the joint. Fingernails and toenails are frequently affected (psoriatic nail dystrophy) and can be seen as an isolated sign. Inflammation of the joints, known as psoriatic arthritis, affects up to 30% of individuals with psoriasis.

There is no cure for this condition in modern medicine and it can only be controlled. However homeopathy offers very high quality and effective treatment for the condition. To know more please call Dr S Faujdar at +91-9754275211 or you can email your query and medical reports to drsfaujdar@gmail.com
